Notes
Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, small-duct type, poorly differentiated: Poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma with admixture of solid, chord-like and micropapillary and tubular pattern, with abundant well-formed and slit-like lumens. There is variable degree of fibrous stroma. The carcinoma cells are small or medium-sized, are pleomorphic cuboidal or columnar. The majority of carcinoma cells have a pale, slightly eosinophilic or vacuolated cytoplasm. The nuclei are small, and the nucleoli are usually less prominent. There is considerable nuclear atypia and mitosis.
