Notes
Poorly differentiated ductal adenocarcinoma of pancreas:
The tumor section is composed of increased number of large and small ductal structures, and poorly formed glands in prominent desmoplastic stroma. There are foci of nests of pleomorphic large cells, and infiltration of single tumor cells. There is marked invasion with areas of fibroblasts expansion. There is marked cytological atypia in the tumor cells, with many mucin producing cells. Also noted are rare multinucleated cells and occasional mitotis. Moderate inflammatory infiltrate is noted in the stromal elements primarily composed of small lymphocytes and histiocytes.
