Notes
Well to moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma of colon. More cribriform glands noted, may indicate evolution of tumor. Tumor cells appear elongated, with overlapping morphology. The center of the glands consist of mucin and necrotic debris consisting of nuclear fragments ie dirty necrosis. There is occasional mitotic figures noted, indicating a highly proliferating tumor. There is also presence of stromal component, which is primarily composed of fibroblasts and some inflammatory cells. Compared to the originator samples, there is decrease in stromal elements, however this stromal component is expanded as small islands.
